At Stormcon July 2005, the Certified Inspector of Sediment
and Erosion Control (CISEC) program was initiated. The forum brought together inspectors, contractors, designers,
and regulatory personnel to ensure development of a CISEC nationwide program that meets EPA’s criteria, identifies standards,
creates qualification requirements, formulates administrative procedures, and so forth. This introduction brought wide interest
and confirmed the need for a certification program. In July 2006, Denver, Colorado, CISEC presented it's package
announcing the purpose, definition, application, code of ethics, along with future trainings and exams that the public would
want to participate. Dr. Jerald S. Fifield, told a room of awaited public interest, that our program was to continually
evolve to keep current and up to date as our industry grows. CISEC first
training and beta testing began in November, 2006. CISEC now offers training and testing throughout the United States.
